I may not have known it at the time, but my Dad had an impact on my healthy relationship with food and being active at a young age. As I got older, my passion for health only grew when I saw the important role nutrition played in my performance as an athlete. I took an introduction to nutrition elective my freshmen year of college and that’s when my journey to become a Registered Dietitian began.

I received a degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech and completed my dietetic internship at Montclair State University. I spent several years as the Nutrition Coordinator at a busy bariatric and medical weight loss practice where I was involved in counseling clients in specialties such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and bariatric nutrition.

With over 15 years of experience working with clients, I know that the diet mentality is often unrealistic and unsustainable. At Healthy Fit Life, I believe in building a great relationship with food while also making lifestyle modifications that will last.  I also believe it is important to learn and understand how food can help and hurt our metabolic health since metabolic health is what drives the strength of your body’s functions system-wide. We will work together to create an individualized plan tailored for you that fits within your lifestyle, schedule, and goals. Together we’ll focus on a holistic approach that also includes exercise to build muscle, activity level, and sleep.

What does a healthy fit life mean to you?  I am excited to work with you, learn more about you and help you get there!
